"Love is patient,
love is kind.
It does not boast,
it is not proud.
It is not rude,
it is not self-seeking,
it is not easliy angered, it keeps no record of wrongs.
Love does not delight in evil, but rejoices with the truth. It always protects,
always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.
Love never fails."
1 Cor 13:4-8

"Ideal love is fostered only between two sincere, mature and independent people.
It is the inner struggle to polish these attributes that is the key. Real love is not two people clinging to each other; it can only be fostered between two strong people secure in their individuality."

Gathering with the canoeists at Holland Village..

Finally, we met up for a gathering over dinner at Holland Village.
After much waiting for people to turn up, the growling stomachs of everyone had decided to find seats at Pizza for Friends for the dinner. Alfresco dining may be of very good ambience but the weather was too warm to handle.
We then headed to Gelare for cooling desserts and chit-chatted.
It was great to know everyone is having something on in their lifes. The guys in the army, and the ladies in the academic world - studying.
We made fun of one another.Laugh.Pictures and more pictures.Talks of army life.Navy divers.Guards.Networking.Officers.Commando.Attitude.Beach-boy.And many more.

Then we headed to Paragon to meet up with our juniors. Found a friendly place to sit down, chit-chat and drink beverages. Cool place, weird manager. haha. Well, the drinks may be very descriptive in the menu, but as we tasted them, we realised that we were all fooled by the flowery words in the menu. haha.

We had fun. More memories to hold on to. We may not be as bonded as what we are supposed to be, i am glad that we are all making an effort to make gatherings a success.
Hopefully, we will have more outings and have other activities together.
Next on mind.. steamboat at christine's place or KTV? hehe! :)

Thanks people for showing face today! I really appreciate the effort! :D

Training didn't really go that well. For the fact that I had a terrible experience in the water.
Struggled.Breathless.Shocked.Neck-trapped.
Anyway, I didn't dribble as much as I had planned to.

Next training - dribble. good passes.

These are all i asked for. :)

Random... SP night...tuition..training..

I just returned from dear's place. Chilled and played yahoogames - bejeweled. Trying to irritate each other to end the game early and helping each other to find the jewels to match too. It was so much fun! Then we had dinner - yummy pizza from the all-time favourite pizza hut. It was pretty tasty, considering the fact that we haven't had pizza for quite some time. :)

Hmm, went for a Hall FOC gathering and meeting on Fri night. Gathered for dinner and meet regarding the stuff that we OGLs have to do. We were supposed to check in at Checkers Cafe but it was closed for renovations. So, we decided to have it at cineleisure in the friends thingy cafe. Food seems good, innovating menu and nice drinks and finger food. It is akin to the previous Lipz Cafe. Enough of dinner. Let's speak of duties. Well, I have been assigned to this particular program - SP Night. It is some secret pal thingy whereby a couple will have a nice and romantic dinner, accompanied with games and music, organized for them. I can forsee that the whole of next week is very packed. I need to recree some venues, meet with other members for program list and submit the full proposal by next Sunday! What a demanding deadline when the OG wants me to submit a solid proposal, so much so that SDU will accept it and sponsor us! Geez.

What's next?
Oh, I am starting a new tuition assignment later in the morning(sunday). A primary 2 boy at Hougang. Very near to my place. A friend of mine couldn't continue it, so i decided to take it and gain more experience in tutoring primary school children. :)
To date, I think I have 3 tuition assignments on hand.
This should be managable even when school starts. Well, hope everything goes well then!

CP training later in the evening. Gonna have friendlies with NP alumni girls.
I have two objectives for the training.
Firstly, to dribble with confidence everytime a ball comes into my possession.
Secondly, i shall not have any bad passes.

Will update after the training to see if I meet my objectives.
For now,
it is bedtime! :)

departure of life..

Witnessed another departure of life today.
Shocked, speechless, mix of emotions.
Even now, i have no idea how to continue writing.
I just feel sad that life seems so meaningless when it ended just 'like that'.
But probably,
we should be more optimistic.
The more we should cherish our lives and the people around us.

interviews

Attempted two interviews for jobs with deare today.

The first job - Sales: Magazines Subscriptions at World Book Fair.
Attractive: It'll be interesting to interact with people and work on sales experience.
Negative: Commission-based and the pay-back is 20% of the subscription.
I think not many people will want to spend that much to subscribe magazine, i think they are going to the bookfair to buy the books there instead!

The second job - Event Promoter
Nothing attractive about it and i don't really like this kind of job.
The job scope is to bring people who is 25 yrs and above & a credit-card holder up to their place and get that to join this travel club.
Again, it is commission-based. Once and again, not easy to lure people these days.
Just look at those surveyors at Orchard, they have been rejected so often.
So, in conclusion, i am not going to take up this job offer.

But one good news,
I managed to clinch another tuition assignment - Pri 6 E/M/S
I can hear cash rolling in! *ching ching* :P

illusions..

i was just wondering, are we all living in illusions?
A thought of living in a place where it might not be real.
Or people with mutiple personalities, to mingle and juggle with different characters with numerous environments.
The world is such a complex shell.
There are many beings whom are not who they really are, and for some, do not even realise that they are not who their heart/mind lies.
It will be sad to discover that one's true personality is not exactly what one hopes to be.
Is that the resultant of environment's expectations?
Or, everyone just want to be the perfect saint?
It is a higher chance that it is the former i guess.
We are often affected by how others see us and we are very concerned with the critics upon us.
Don't u agree?
Well, as everyone struggles to be the perfect being, there will definitely be someone at some place struggling to find the true nature of him/herself.

bumming..sentosa..inline skating..reading..

Nothing much have been going on lately caz I have been bumming around these days.
Thursday - went to Sentosa with my tutorial friends!
Had fun and laughter with the frisbee, volleyball and swimming.
Did a bit of tanning, but the sun was hiding away and the drizzle was not stopping.
So, wasn't that "tanned" after all.
Friday - went inline-skating with dear at East Coast!
I haven't been on inline-skates since secondary school days. I was so shaky on the skates initially, then after some tries and distance, and with dear coaching me again,
I felt more comfortable.
Although at some points I had the "falling down" motion, I didn't fall on my bum or any where! yea! ;p It was so sunny that day, and when i was home, I realised that I have shade lines of my racer-back top. Not nice at all. hehe~
Currently, I am reading Dan Brown - the Da Vinci Code, finally! I have gathered that I will read all the novels that I am interested with after my exams.
Novels like,
  • Da Vinci Code - Dan Brown (reading..)
  • Angels and Demons - Dan Brown
  • Eleven minutes - Paulo Coelho
  • 5 people u meet in heaven - Mitch Albom (watched the movie on Hallmark!)
  • Probably one romance story

The first 4 are nowhere in sight in the national libraries and I had to head to San Bookshop for the books. Expensive man.. Well, what to do? I want to read and I have to pay a price for it.

There are not much to do around Singapore these days, but shopping and movies at town.
It is getting so boring, especially for couples!
Experiencing the "i'm-so-bored-with-singapore" symptom with dear!
Haha, wondering if there are any other interesting activities to do these days.
I have some activities on the list.
  • Inline skating
  • Jurong East Swimming Complex (cheaper than wild wild wet)
  • go JB for food+shopping
  • book a bbq pit - bbq and chit-chat with friends
  • bowling
  • be a 'tourist' and ride on rickshaw to travel around singapore
  • too bad dear dun like reading novels, if not can find a nice cafe to sit around and read~
  • go to the zoo
  • go to the birdpark
  • Experience Sentosa like an ang-mo tourist will
  • Learn something new (language, dance..)
  • Karaoke..

Ok, I realised there are still some things that we can do, but.. hey, everything needs money la! Need to find a job, anyone has lobang for me? Sales, admin, tuition - any job that is temporary, 2 months till mid july.. Let me know k? thanks!

Fragile life..

Life can be so fragile at times that leaves us feeling shocked or alarmed. It is hard to believe that one moment u are here, and the other, u are gone forever. How can one ever survive through the ordeal of not being able to see or talk to the person permanently, because u know that that person has passed on to his/her next journey? I don't think I can ever take this ordeal if someone close to me leaves me forever. It's so hard to accept. But i guess, time heals ya?
Hope my friend and his family will tide through this ordeal.

I wondered if you have read/watch "5 people u meet in Heaven" by Mitch Albom. I watched it on Hallmark Channel, and it is touching to know that everyone is doing something for a certain reason for a certain person and his/her life. And they are all linked up to your life, like a cycle, then the reasons behind the actions are then clarifed as you meet them in heaven. They are the most significant people in your life that shape your character or thinkings.
I recommend that you guys read it, if you have much free time on hand.

Girl-friends~

Finally met up with jy, cab & norman, and audrey yesterday!
It was some time ago that we met up, chat and play mahjong!
I met up with jy first caz we want to look around and do some window-shopping.
This gal has changed to be an ever prettier and sweeter girl. We shared about our struggles in tertiary life, and i am so glad that i have friends like pj and gim in the same course as me. ;)
Well, we admitted that tertiary life is fun but tiring at the same time, caz we have to juggle so many things at a time. jy, i believe that u can do a better job in uni, so don't give up! :)
As for dinner ( also to celebrate aud's birthday), we had it at Marche (aud's all-time fav).
Nice food, nice accompany and lame jokes to laugh at. Hehe, having Aud around is a blessing!
Mj at cab's place after dinner. Haha. Aud was so into Mambo that she taught us some mambo moves. At the mj table, both of us was making those mambo moves when "summer rain" was playing at cab's com. That was so fun! Everyone just started to laugh at the mj table everynow and then when mambo music comes it. haha!

Having the accompany of girl-friends are simply amazing..!
