"Love is patient,
love is kind.
It does not boast,
it is not proud.
It is not rude,
it is not self-seeking,
it is not easliy angered, it keeps no record of wrongs.
Love does not delight in evil, but rejoices with the truth. It always protects,
always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.
Love never fails."
1 Cor 13:4-8

"Ideal love is fostered only between two sincere, mature and independent people.
It is the inner struggle to polish these attributes that is the key. Real love is not two people clinging to each other; it can only be fostered between two strong people secure in their individuality."

war of the worlds..

Initially I was pretty excited about this movie because it was by steven spelberg and the main actor is tom cruise. Then I realised that it is about alien invasion into earth. Thought it'll be quite stupid to watch this genre of show again.
But then, in the end, I still went to get the show tickets to watch it with deare.
To my surprise, the acting of the little girl and tom cruise is amazing!
The storyline has more than meets its eyes, and it is not like the other similar stories of alien invasion.

Well well..
I will say this is a great war to catch. :)

10 more days...good & bad.

Ten more days, and my dear baby is enlisting into NS.
As the date draws nearer and nearer to reality, the more unprepared I am.
Although I may seem calm and composed to it, at times, I still feel fidgety about the fact that dear is going to enlist so soon!
I am afraid that things will change and will not feel the same as it is now..
There are so many "what-ifs" in my mind and I can't sort all of them out in a clear picture.
Yae, who is certain of the future anyway?
The future is full of uncertainties and we will never know what is going to happen ahead of us.
If there is a time-machine, I will want to travel ahead of my time and see what will happen to dear and I.
But if we know of the future, then life won't be enriching anymore.
Or rather, there won't be any surprises and we will just take everything for granted.

I think I should look into this matter at a more optimistic angle.
In 10 more days, dear and I will have been together for 3 years.
To think, 3 years ago at Marche(Suntec) - the dinner and blushed faces of him and me.
Sweet as it may be, we have our ups and downs, the hurdles and surprises.
Hope we will go through this obstacle once again and triumph with success. ;P

A toast to our relationship baby!

I LOVE YOU! *muacks*

cp training..work @ paintball..

Had cp training on tuesday. Now we are having trainings thrice a week (tues, fri and sunday). And this schedule will probably continue until competition is over.
Competition is in August, feeling the tension and heat now.
Trying my best to focus at every training and games.
Having my objectives in mind every training is fantastic because it allows me to have aims and concentrate better! Well, tues's training I aimed to shoot with more force and better direction. Fairly good, but need more improvement. Zoning was good too.
We put up good defence against the guys in the games. :)
Need to continue to work harder!!

Part-timed at paintball on wednesday.
I think yesterday was my most unlucky day ever.
I was pushing the trolley to the playing arena and somehow, I did not do it the right way and the whole trolley (consisting of the guns, paintballs, gas cylinders, magazines) rolled over and one of the guns was damaged and some of the paintballs came off the container. Both of my shins are bruised but I was more concerned about the guns. I felt so guilty. Thank goodness that I did not have to pay for the damages.
My whole day was ruined and while facilitating the games, I wasn't really concentrating. Just did all that I can, but I think I was too fierce to the participants when they breached the safety rules.

Well well.. all over and done with.
I better avoid the duty to push the trolley for quite some time.. *geez*

cp training..

Not many gers turned up for today's training, I was quite disheartened.
But well, since I was already there, I decided to make full use of the pool slot.
For today's training, it went on fairly alright despite my stomach-upset.
My focus for training was to have the sense of urgency during training and games.
Objective was fairly attained but there is always room for improvement.
I realised that time is not on our side and the club needs to work extremely hard to be at a better standing from previous competition.
I can see that every1 is putting in their best effort..
But I realised that our club do not have a mission or goal unlike the other teams around.

Without a mission or aim, where are we heading then?

Check out this sport babe in the limelight.. or rather.. gold-light!

I was logging in to yahoo.mail to check out my inbox. Then, this piece of news caught my eye.
She is indeed very pretty and stunning.
I think she is the first person to don in golden studs tennis shoes ever.
All that I can exclaimed is.. i am so envious.

"Maria Sharapova will wear gold-encrusted tennis shoes worth up to 900 dollars when she begins the defence of her Wimbledon title.
The 18-year-old Russian, who defeated Serena Williams to win her first Grand Slam title at the All England Club in 2004, will sport shoes with 18-carat gold studs.
To complete the ensemble, she will also wear a sweatshirt cover-up with a gold zipper.
"There are 18-carat gold specks in the shoes. They are totally different and hopefully they can attract my opponents because they shine unbelievably," Sharapova said on Sunday
."

.. as extracted from the news bulletin from yahoo.com.sg
(with all the weblog brouhaha these days, we better cite our sources.)

cp training..

Missed a few trainings for two weeks.
When training started, felt rusty when i went back for training yesterday.
Had my objectives in mind.
Dribble and proper passes.
So we did dribbling, passings, possessions for yesterday's training..
I was pretty pissed with myself when i did reckless passes.
Smacked my helmet a few times to remind myself to wake up.
But well, I blocked one ball with a loud 'thud' infront of the goalpost while zoning.
Felt great zoning yesterday. Better communication and aggressiveness. :)
I was so tired out in the games that I can't even focus for long.
Bad.bad.bad.
I need to improve on my fitness level - stamina and strength.

In the train, while on my way there, my mind was full of action at the pool.
Things like, how should i react when I did this or that, how to zone properly, how to prepare myself, focus of the game..etc I think it is a good way to prepare myself mentally before each training. More focused and directive with all the objectives in mind.
As for now, I strive to be confident with passes+dribbling and near-to-perfect zoning.
Well, we all need aims to be better.
Far-fetched but it is attainable.
'Be sure of what I want'.. is the stepping stone to accomplish the aims. :)

Working..gathering with some canoeing friends..

Working with people has always being an enjoyment.
Not only do we slog together, we get to share all the laughters too.
It was fun working at Paintball x-fire yesterday.
Though tiring and sweaty, the colleagues were great accompany. :)
They were more experienced and had much patience with me.
They taught me all the things I need to know and let me try out new stuff that I wanted to at work.
Nice people! :)
We ended at about 8pm after the cleaning and packing of the game equipments.
That was the toughest part of this job.
We got to dismantle the parts, clean and put them back again.
Oh man, if only I am genius enough and able to think of a way to clean all these rifles asap. hehe.
But well, that is part of the job scope, I can't complain much about that. :P

Ok, then had a free ride from one of the staff at paintball to town to meet some of the canoeing teammates for Jeremy's birthday and gathering. Jeremy, Zhen Hao, ZhiQiang, Champ and Gim were present. I joined them much later, and me being so hungry, hurried them to take their orders quick at Friends cafe @Cine. haha. I was like a hungry lion. Roarrr!

Had nice time chatting and crapping with them. Laughters, crappy chats and munching.
Fun! :D

how do you perceive your own life?

Finally, I managed to lay my hands on a book by Paulo Coelho, a writer from Brazil.
His second newest novel - Eleven Minutes.
Life-inspiring story that captivates your soul and triggers your brain to ponder about your own life and how you look at it.
Often, we are exposed to choices and doubtful of the risks involved.

"Eleven Minutes" speaks about a beautiful lady from Brazil who has been pooled into the prostitution ring and how she manages to improve her soul.
She sees her life very differently from her other counterparts.
This serious fiction involves very intriguing content. Interesting..

An extract from the book,
"I can choose either to be a victim of the world or an adventurer in search of treasure.
It's all a question of how I view my life."

This sentence may spell simple words, but it explains the real fact that how our life will evolve depends on ourselves. How we think, how we act and how we perceive things.
Being optimistic in life enables a person to be happier, more successful in life.
In my terms, "success" does not only mean material gains but also, the spiritual gains.
Fuelling our lives with soulful inputs that aid us in improving our soul and thoughts.

This is definitely not easy, cause if so, then everyone on Earth will be so perfect.
If everyone is the same, then how do we realise the otherwise?

At some point of life, there are certain events that had happened and we wished that they never exists.
But have we paused a moment and think, if not for those 'unfortunate' events, would I have grown to be more careful in our actions or more mature in our thoughts?

We should all seek to be better persons by searching the essence of life.
Self-pitiness will not bring us far, instead it will cause us to halt the pursuit of life-enriching adventures.
We should learn to be the BIG man in the SMALL universe.
And not the other way round.

p.s.
Do pick up novels by Paulo Coelho if you need a concentrate to keep your life upbeat. :)
