"Love is patient, love is kind. It does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easliy angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil, but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. Love never fails." 1 Cor 13:4-8 "Ideal love is fostered only between two sincere, mature and independent people. It is the inner struggle to polish these attributes that is the key. Real love is not two people clinging to each other; it can only be fostered between two strong people secure in their individuality." -Ikeda Sensei, Wisdom of Words Archives December 2003 January 2004 February 2004 March 2004 April 2004 May 2004 June 2004 July 2004 August 2004 September 2004 October 2004 November 2004 December 2004 January 2005 February 2005 March 2005 April 2005 May 2005 June 2005 July 2005 August 2005 September 2005 October 2005 November 2005 December 2005 January 2006 February 2006 March 2006 April 2006 May 2006 June 2006 July 2006 August 2006 September 2006 October 2006 December 2006 January 2007 February 2007 March 2007 April 2007 May 2007 June 2007 July 2007 August 2007 September 2007 October 2007 November 2007 December 2007 January 2008 March 2008 April 2008 May 2008 June 2008 July 2008 August 2008 September 2008 January 2009 June 2009 |
contact lens and me and my silliness.. Lately, I am doing a research project with my course mates regarding the durability of disposable soft contact lenses. So, I am looking into the different types such as daily, biweekly, monthly and yearly. I have always enjoyed doing research, like sourcing for information, because along the way, there are so many details to learn from. By reading all the information, I am, still, so astonished by the advancement in technology. So, I've decided to look for an attachment company who emphasizes on R&D for my attachment next year! I should do what I like. and, I must succeed! *inspired by Adam Khoo..* Despite the 'rumoured' stress level, I think the excitement of all these research will outweigh it. Anyway, back to the contact lenses.. I was at Whitesands on Saturday, then they happened to have a contact lenses roadshow. So after tuition, I went to the booths (acuvue and B&L) and see if they can help me in this project. At Acuvue - I approached a promoter and grilled her with my technical questions. Haha, I must say this company has trained their staff well. As for B&L, their marketing executive was there. So, yeap, made use of the chance to ask him all the questions that I need for this project. I also went into an optician shop to interview one of the opticians. Not a very good interview, but at least I managed to squeeze some info out from the optician. :) I must say it had been an experience. Walking around these booths and the shop, telling them I am from ntu doing blahblahblah. Took alot of courage. Hehe. Then they asked if I want to be a contact lens promoter.. Tempting, but I have 1 major problem. I don't even dare to wear contact lenses, how am i supposed to help the others to put them on? *yikes* So, with no hesitation, I rejected the offer! ;P __________________________________________________________________ Dear, once and again, you booked in to that lonely island offshore. I miss you so much. Hope you are taking care and keeping that mind of yours strong. *muacks* :: dawn tan :: at 2:04 AM Something about relationships.. I received an email from a friend about the following. Thought it is nice to share with you guys.. :) Do It Now If you're mad with someone , and nobody's there to fix the situation... You fix it. Maybe today, that person still wants to be your friend. And if u don't, tomorrow can be too late. If you're in love with somebody, but that person doesn't know... tell her/him. Maybe today, that person is also in love with you. And if you don't say it, tomorrow can be too late. If you still love a person that you think has forgotten you... tell her/him. Maybe that person have always loved you. And if you don't tell her/him today, tomorrow can be too late. If you need a hug of a friend... ask her/him for it. Maybe they need it more than you do. And if you don't ask for it today, tomorrow can be too late. If you really have friends who you appreciate... tell them. Maybe they appreciate you as well. That if you don't and they leave or go far away today, tomorrow can be too late. If you love your parents, and never had the chance to show them... do it. Maybe you have them there to show them how you feel. That if you don't and they leave today, then tomorrow can be too late. :: dawn tan :: at 1:58 PM love is never too far apart.. Sch starts all over again after that supposedly 'recess week'. But as soon as Monday started, quizzes started to flow in and kill me. Tough quizzes.. Out of four, two were mediocre, one was good and another was moderate. I'm so strangled. I need a wake up call to gear myself and prepare for the final exam. I don't want a low GPA.. I'm aiming for at least a 3 out of 5. *cross my fingers* K, back to my term break. It was nice to have a week away from the lectures and tutorials, and spent all my time with my deare. He had his block leave, and I have my term break. Besides giving tuition, I'm always with him. Now that he has booked in, I feel so odd. It feels like something is missing in my life. I always have my ways to console myself. Firstly, I will search for my dark chocolates. They are my best companion when I'm stressed out or feeling the blues. ;P Secondly, I will watch lots of TV programs. I admit that I am a TV addict. I can sit infront of the TV set and watch all the channels available on cable for quite a couple of hours. Through the past few days, deare had his bad days in camp. He may not be where he wants to be, but I know he will put in twice the effort to realise that dream which he has been holding onto so deeply. Hope he is getting stronger each day, I always tell him and myself, I am never too far apart.. Love is never too far apart... *muaacks* :: dawn tan :: at 8:36 PM many detours in life.. Things will not always go on a journey that we wished they will be. Instead of brooding over the matter, why not make full use of what we are given? Yea, too many things are happening. So often that I wonder, should we really dream of who and what we want to be? *hugs* Don give up hope, I'll always be supporting you. The comfort, the hugs, the assurance.. *muacks* :: dawn tan :: at 2:48 PM how sufficient is ' enough ' ? 'money is everything, without it, you can't do anything.' 'the sky is never too high to soar.' 'you are too far off from our expections.' These are some common phases you hear among everyone, or even yourself, to question the level of sufficiency. What is 'enough'? Enough to satisfy your desires? or enough to make someone smile? When we think that it is already sufficient, we dare not stop. Why so? I guess, there is always a saturation point that everyone hopes to reach. Without that saturation, there ain't other satisfaction. You will want to ride on that challenge and sprint like there is no tomorrow, and then conclude with a phrase - "i'm saturated." It all depends on ourselves to measure that sufficiency. Just like that glass of water, is that 'half-empty' or 'half-full'? If you think you have maximized your capabilities, you will respond, "that's full". But, if you want to push on and even break records, you will cheer on yourself with such reply, "that's way too little." In conclusion, we are all human, with different desires and expectations. It is normal to be crazy about our dreams, but we have to realise that our saturation is our limitation. Never to give up on yourself if you know that you have yet fully maximized your potential. Work hard people. Who is to know what is going to happen the next second? :: dawn tan :: at 4:02 PM |
