"Love is patient, love is kind. It does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easliy angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil, but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. Love never fails." 1 Cor 13:4-8 "Ideal love is fostered only between two sincere, mature and independent people. It is the inner struggle to polish these attributes that is the key. Real love is not two people clinging to each other; it can only be fostered between two strong people secure in their individuality." -Ikeda Sensei, Wisdom of Words Archives December 2003 January 2004 February 2004 March 2004 April 2004 May 2004 June 2004 July 2004 August 2004 September 2004 October 2004 November 2004 December 2004 January 2005 February 2005 March 2005 April 2005 May 2005 June 2005 July 2005 August 2005 September 2005 October 2005 November 2005 December 2005 January 2006 February 2006 March 2006 April 2006 May 2006 June 2006 July 2006 August 2006 September 2006 October 2006 December 2006 January 2007 February 2007 March 2007 April 2007 May 2007 June 2007 July 2007 August 2007 September 2007 October 2007 November 2007 December 2007 January 2008 March 2008 April 2008 May 2008 June 2008 July 2008 August 2008 September 2008 January 2009 June 2009 |
where am i? where was i? internship is fun! joined them for a team-building event @ settlers' cafe (katong) on fri. Played this memory game where I dreaded the most and had tons of fun playing sabotague (building mines). I realised how good I am with strategy games! :P But it also dawned on me that I am a thinker. Throughout the game, I kept on 'thinking' and 'thinking' about the moves that I am going to make! After Settler, met dear to meet his friends at zouk. Haven't been there for ages. The music was average @ phuture and zouk has music akin to an haven for bollywood training! Watching the pple moving at the dancefloor at zouk was hilarious! Had quite a few of drinks collectively. let me recall... dry whiskey (fierce), vodka lime (sour), gin tonic (atrocious), screwdriver (nice)..and my favourite - tequila pop! These drinks made me so 'floaty' in the end. The supper @ the prata coffeeshop didn't help much. And, I concussed in the taxi and on dear's bed! haha! But, I definitely had a great time with dear, kat & eden, desiree & alvin! :) Apart from the fun... weekdays (Mon to Thurs) are mundane in the office and after work. In the office, I have to look at strings and strings of data and try to find out what's going on. It's so tiring for my eyes. Not much greenery to look around, but these days, there has been a free green apple to lighten things up! After work, I'll rush off for tuition. Upon reaching home, I am so deadbeat. But the $$ motivates me to go for the tuition promptly. heh! Alas, January is approaching to an end. And, Feburary is arriving. I dread the transistion. Why? I am turning 22! My favourite number arriving together! Do I feel myself growing old? Hmm, with people around me calling me xiao-mei and xiao bu dian, I can't help but to feel 16! Ha, what a way to comfort myself! I don't think there'll be much celebration. Hopefully to spend time with dear, family and close friends! Nothing great deal about blowing candles. It'll be more important to meet up with the girls to have a chat! It has been ages since we've met. How are you gals?? I'll arrange a date to meet you gals for dinner. (free on weekday - wed/thurs/fri?) To end.. Hope everyone is enjoying shopping for CNY! :D :: dawn tan :: at 10:58 PM Somewhere afar, I see the rainbow beaming.. For IA, I have been attached to the Sales Channel Services - Distribution Management dept. Totally not related to my area of study, but heck, I am enjoying my stay there. Despite the constant stare on the computer screen & no access to internet, I can just occupy myself the whole day with my mp3 and the wonders of microsoft excel. I think my NTU supervisor will just roll his eyes. hahar. I have been assigned to do this certain 'analysis', so I need to use the excel. These few days I have been exploring with excel and trying to have a 'feel' and 'familarity' with the formulas. They are a bundle. *shrug* Other than that, the people in this dept are really funny & friendly & helpful. Thankfully. I enjoy lunching with them because they have a huge stack of jokes (and bullish) to share. But, I still miss my time at the microcontroller dept with the other two interns. I think this turn of event is such a blessing in disguise. Although I don't get to experience engineering working life, I am exposed to other aspects that I cannot learn from school. This is life. You don't always get what you want. Be flexible and be willing to learn. Only with this mindset, interns can survive the 6 months! :D And, 'man tou', now that you are recovering fast and well, you have to take good care of your body and watch your diet. Now you know everyone loves you. :) Hope this 'challenge' did not cast a shadow on you. Rather, I hope you have grown stronger and more mature. Baby, I miss you! I have been so busy with my commitments that I couldn't meet you. You have been most understanding and wonderful. The treats you gave me when I was feeling down. The hugs when I was feeling scared. The words that cheered me up. You are the greatest! I can't wait to see you over the weekend and spend some quality time together! *muacks*
:: dawn tan :: at 10:21 PM existence we always ponder, "why do we exist in this particular place?" or rather, we often question ourselves, "why am I treated in such a manner?" Or, we asked for an answer from our faith, "why must such a thing happen to me or my loved ones?" I don't know why such an event will happen. Was it negligence or was it a test from the "above"? I don't know. Life is full of uncertainties. I always know that, i mean.. life can never be perfect. I don't want to harp on this issue. But, seriously, she don't deserve such a 'challenge'. It is worrying because you are my only one. I don't want anything to happen to you. All I hope for is sweet returns. Everything to be safe and well. You'll be fine, I know. Definitely! *i love you! :: dawn tan :: at 4:53 PM work @ attachment So pple have asked... what have I been doing? Well, nothing much in particular. Have been playing around with microcontrollers, looking at binary codes (in my world of the matrix), plugging in usb and taking it out, finding com ports, follow instructions. Basically, it is very "electronics". (e.e.e. or just, eee!) So much so, yes, I am in the wrong dept. Well, I have fun time trying to learn the new terms and concepts. Nobody likes programming, but it is queer when u can just change the output or result by editing the program code. it is a world of its own that is worth exploring. However, it can get quite tiring and frustrating when you do not know what is going on in there. My status in the com. is a bit complex. I have no idea too. But most probably, I'll be changing dept in a few weeks time. I hope... It'll be great, of course, to stay around this dept to play around with all the microcontrollers, motors, programming. Besides that, the mentors are really helpful and friendly! Up till now, I can say that this attachment didn't turn out as smoothly as it is supposed to be. Just because of some adminstrative problems that happened somewhere along the line. Well, I have no regrets joining this company. It is a great place to learn. Despite all the frustrating problems (that is not supposed to happen), I still enjoy my stay. This is only the 2nd week. So, got to hang on there and just enjoy whatever comes along! :: dawn tan :: at 11:17 AM I will be starting my industrial attachment nxt week at Infineon Technologies Asia Pacific Pte Ltd. One thing i'll miss most in school would be having fun with all this bunch of pple! ass-hole daidee over lunch, the nonsense jokes and laughters. ah, i'm starting to miss school.... (ya right...)
