just hit upon me that life itself is so vulnerable, but yet, in Singapore,
we are so trapped in doing things that we got used to the habit of doing things,
and became aimless.
it is easy to take the most comfortable way out, but i learnt something.

the difficult life is the life to live, to experience.

what is my dream? a friend gave me a book to dream big.
how far will i dream big?
how far, will i pick up that courage to live out the big dream.

work, being work - why are we working so hard for?

The first month of 2009 is almost near, and I've not done any updates at all!
To those who are interested, life has been revolving around work.
and, i'm feeling very blessed to be in this job.

i've been putting myself in this box,

the filter papers have been a great deal of help.

but, i know, there'll be a day that i have to tear off these papers.
and, that day has come.

i dread how one can just shift the responsibility with just a sentence.

what is the role of his own existence?
it doesn't take another to tell one but rather, it takes oneself to realise.
i just want to put this word 'REALIZATION' in his face.
it is definitely not worth my words or effort to do that.

i will still continue to put that layer of filter paper.

3023.my 10km.

finally, i had made myself complete a 10km run this year!
in fact, it was the shape run 08 (20july08)!

i didn't train much for it.
so with a timing of an hour & 8 min was good enough for me,
but the little corner of the mind that wishes to excel,
was hoping to score it in an hour!

next year i shall train for it and run in by 55min!

having an adrenaline rush to do more.
But the thought of paying $50 for another run - no way.

i shall just go back to my daily dosage of jogs around the estate and park.

price-less experience.

i love perth.

it has been a great break so far.

went to Perth for 2 weeks.
And, it was simply awesome.
I had such a great time that i don't want to come home!

Perth is just so amazing!
i love the air, the wind, the sun, the swan river, the people, the culture, the houses, the food, the architecture, the fishing, the rock-climbing, the road trip, the cows, the sheep, the kangaroo, the shopping, the coffee, the rainbow, the seagulls, the fish & chips, the seafood basket, the apples, the ice cream, the bubble tea, the juices, the milk, the chocolates...

the list just goes on!

Perth ain't that boring at all.
Although shops closed at 5p.m, there were still numerous activities that can be done!
i guess it's the way you see how time can be spent.
to me, i won't even mind reading a book under the tree,
by the swan river, for the whole evening!

sitting by the swan river gives one of the most scenic view that one can ever asked for!

Perth is so my cup of tea!

I enjoyed my road-trip down south of western australia too.
Though tiring, there were so many amazing encounters during the trip.
Met wonderful people, enjoyed the galaxy of stars at night, had great company..
it was indeed memorable!

given a choice, i think i'll want to live in Perth.
and Perth is indeed a place where one can seek comfort,
enjoy the peace and serenity.

it's over?

yap, results are out.
and that's it for the 4 long (yet seemed really fast) years!

the whole process of checking the FINAL result was heart-pounding, heartburning, weak hands, wobbly legs.
it was almost like an heart attack.
and, i had to try multiple attempts to load the result page.
that final loading was insane!
the results were like staring at me.
the heartbeat slowed down.
and, slowly, the reality sets in.....

i was thinking, do i deserve the results that i'm getting?

but well, reflecting on the 4 years and the things that i've done and,
with my lower-than-normal level of intelligence,
i think i should be contented.

it is not exceptionally good that can make my parents very proud.
but, i think i've done my part to graduate, at least.

one thing that i'm really excited about is my fyp result.
it wasn't what i expected but it was what i've been dreaming of!
this result held more importance to me than the final honours roll.

and, i'm so glad.

did i regret anything? hmm not really!
did i miss out anything? yesh, i think quite a few stuff.

for most of the 4 years,
i've been trying to juggle my time between sch & earning my keep.
though tiring, the whole experience had me learnt alot about life.

in my own private space,
i give myself a pat on the back for my own little triumphs.

it has been quite a ride.
and, i think i'm really blessed!

all thanks to Him.

hey! i'm at venetian macau now.
upon entering the resort, i was overwhelmed with the architecture and wallpaper.
every wall, every ceiling, every pillar simply look astonishing!
it is like a lil' european village.
and being a fan of europe scenery, u can imagine how much i'm enjoying myself with the sights!

job hunt!

i've been a full-time tutor more than a full-time student.
but i'm enjoying every bit of my time now.
i guess it is very purposeful,
especially when the students understand what i'm trying to teach!

but no,
i don't think i want to embark onto the teaching career yet.
i want to hit the cbd area first!

for the past few days,
i've been sending out my resume and cover letter.
it is like throwing flower seeds onto the soil of the garden.
hopefully the soil is good and the seeds manage to get rooted!
amusing. hope there'll be some replies!

everyone's looking for job these days.
it is like another final-year-project.
bothersome but yet very much needed!

hope everyone will get their dream job.

national art museum

since last year,
i wanted to visit the greek masterpiece but i never got the time.
so i had some free time on sat morning,
and i decided to head down!

it turned out that i didn't have to pay for the tickets cause it was international women day!
but anyway, i was so glad that i made my way down there and visited the exhibition.
if not, i think i would regret it for quite a while.

some scenic views..

Nike - goddess of victory

these two exhibits were my favourite!
but somehow, they reminded me of this anime that i cant remember now.
but the wings on her were really cool.
the way that she was sculptured, the curves & shape..
all i can say is.. I'm speechless.

the philosophers - socrates, aristotle, aristophanes, sophocles

yea, they were the main leaders in greek philosophy in their own way.
the double portrait sculpture was cool like anything.
they looked like the Siamese twins.
i mean, the conjoined part was almost flawless!
so so cool!

one of the quotes on the walls around the exhibit hall

some were historical, some were inspiring.
this quote just left me pondering about the essence of
reasoning, understanding and being humble in life.

Hercules

i was quite disappointed that there wasn't a full body Hercules
in this exhibition.
i guess it'll be too expensive to fly him over.

cupid

everyone knows cupid.
our love angel.
he might be small, but the power of his bow was magnificent.

Aphrodite - she's supposed to be the most beautiful one among all the Goddess.

when i was looking at the sculpture,
i'm intrigued by the delicate work.
Esp in this piece where she just came out of her bath.
the resemblance of the wet cloth draped over her body -
i thought this was a pretty amazing piece!

Ares - god of war (the handsome one)

this pair of ms. belle and mr. charming
was the most expensive piece flown in.
sq first class cargo - imagine the hefty price.
i was admiring this supposedly mr. charming.
And, indeed,
his features were all placed together very very nicely.
the masculinity and aura around him.. ;D

the mid-air seal

this was another exhibit in the museum by this japanese artist.
this work was inspired by the greenery of singapore.
but i still couldn't figure out the seal.

i also went to take a look at 'history of singapore'.
there were so many things that i've never heard of.
am i a singaporean? i wonder!
oh, they gave me this companion to bring into the exhibition.
it is like a A5-sized video player with information
about each station of the exhibit.
advancement in technology and museum experience.
i think i still prefer to walk without the gadget.

at east coast park on sunday!

met up with cab & norman over lunch and blade.
i went early to try to get the 'blading feeling' back.
and, i spent quite a bit of time at the skaters' corner!
it was quite an experience, and watching the acrobat skaters.

dazzle

i am never a dog-person.
but, surprisingly, i had such a great time hanging out with dazzle!
she's so smart and adorable!
sometimes,
the behaviour of animals just had me so amazed.
And, amused!

simple joy

oh, this is definitely an achievement!
cab & norman taught me how to ride a bicycle.
and, i'm overjoyed!
because, i can finally cycle!

i've always taught roller-blading is more difficult than cycling.
but after picking up cycling,
i'm thinking otherwise.
i took less than a day to pick up cycling.
but, for skating,
i took 3 days to learn how to blade properly!
and till now, i'm still trying to be firm and learning how to stop.
goodness!
nonetheless, i still enjoy both! :)
anyone? hehe!

i have been spending quality time with my family too.
lunch, dinner, shopping, window-shopping, dessert..
and. i tried this pair of orange shades.

what's in store?

it has been some time since I've updated.
life has been pretty much the same!

ed has left for perth for his 2nd semester.
i'm trying to get used to it, but it felt much better than last time.

Now, i'm fighting a war - a wordy war with the earthly science.
I have been trying to complete my fyp report,
and it seems like never-ending!

to take away the mundane stuff, i have been enjoying my french class.
J'aime beaucoup le français!
it has been quite a tough time to learn its pronunciation and sentence structure, but the fun i'm getting out of it is... priceless!

How I wish I can just stay in France for 1 year to learn the language, experience the culture, interact with the people, visit the châteaux (castles), drink the wine, walk down the promenade..
I won't even mind working at the café!
Will this even be possible? Will I have the courage to do it?
With tuition fee hitting at the back of my head,
I doubt that'll be of any possibility.

Anyway, some pictures to lift up the mood!

During the recess week,
I managed to have a short getaway with ed @ Bintan.
Sun, beach, swim, more sun, all-terrain ride..
despite it being a short trip, the time spent was definitely worthwhile!

oh, and there was my 23rd birthday celebration!
it fell on the 2nd day of cny and it wasn't that good a thing.

ntu friends celebrated for me and yl too!
we karaok-ed at ntu clubhouse.
i was pretty surprised by its updated songlist!
and we had a cosy dinner at essential brew.
a good place to chill & relax with friends at night..
over a cup of nice brew!

girls at lifegroup celebrated for me too.
and we had steamboat at per's place!
it was my first time having sukiyaki steamboat.
and, yea.. it was delicious!

Last semester.. the finale!

School started and I think I am enjoying it.
Returning to school knowing that it is the last semester (finally) has certainly made me feel that school is sweet. I will never miss Boon Lay though, cause it is so 'detached' from anywhere in Sg. haha. The time spent on travelling has been a constant complaint but hey, it is finally reaching a conclusion. I wish to conclude this chapter of my life with a conclusion that is worth applauding.
Will I achieve what I have hoped for? I know I will.
It'll be a renewal of mind & transformation.
The fruit at the end of the road is enriched with the essential vitamins!
And, I can't wait to grab it to quench my thirst! :D

dec 2007 captured!

the last month of 2007 was quite an eventful one.
nonetheless, it had been well-spent!
i've learnt alot about myself during this month.
it wasn't easy but i thank u for all that u have done for me.

who can resist ben&jerry's? yummy!
finally, ed & I had a chance to hang out at dempsey!
nice place to chill!

had dinner with the girls & ed at billy bombers.
nice time catching up with one another, laughters, gossips &
more gossips!
side note: the milkshake is just the best i've ever tasted!

had dinner with my 5th aunt & family on x'mas.
my cousin, Andre, is just so cheeky & lovable!
it was such a joy to spend my x'mas with this lil' boy!

i had a difficult time choosing the dinner place for dear.
finally, i made the decision on fosters @ holland village.
food was fantastic, ambience was even better!
i was even happier that dear had a great time! :D

History Channel
The hidden story behind the Mummy

i was having a relaxing time at home and browsing through the numerous cable channels.
it is a bad habit, but i have this tendency of going through the channels and then see what's coming onto screen for the next hour.
Even though, I've done it once and the thing is that I'll do it every time during commercials!
So silly!

Anyway, I stumbled upon History Channel.
No, I'm not that geeky.
Just that I am very intrigued by the stories behind Mummies and Egypt.

This documentary was illustrating the use of advanced technology to uncover secrets under the wraps.
It was so cool!
Imagine the use of 3D image, holograms and sculpturing to portray the REAL image of the person that had been mummified.
All that was done without damaging the mummy.
The use of supercomputers has made this possible and it was awesome!

Commonly, it was said that technology revolution is a double-edged sword.
But, after watching this documentary,
I realized how powerful technology is.

term break that is so going to break me...

Next week is, finally, the 1 week term break.

But, i'll be heading back to school on most of the days.

So, I don't think it's really a term break afterall.

On the brighter side, I look forward to the shorter queue at 179. :P

Often, I want to slow down but, as soon as I try to do that,

everyone else is moving on so quickly.

I need a breather.

For the past weeks.. I've spent time with my mum & sis.

Blogging has reached into an hiatus ever since school started.
So many things have happened, are happening and changing.
My life has definitely changed, with a whole new perspective now.
Everything is filled with purpose now. :)

Had a great workout at women's day out today, outside civic plaza.
It was invigorating! 5 hours of workout for the iron woman segment..
oh my.. i can feel the effects now. *sore and tired muscles*

happy national day!

i was so in awe with the stage design and water features.

this year's ndp was simply one of the world's first!

though i didn't quite understand some of the displays,

i loved the display with the neon remote-controlled kites!

that display was so cool! great job with the co-ordination!

but my fav was the song performance by Kit Chan.

I still think that she sings the best national day songs!

i was so touched with the song..

despite all the big famous landmarks overseas, it is still best at home!

gathering with the canoeists on 8 aug

this is a tradition left behind by our (very) old seniors...

it is, supposedly, an annual gathering day where all the sr canoeist batches will come together and recollect the good old times.

it serves as a day to know the new people too.

but, for this year, the annual dinner has been postponed to 18 aug.

so, we had our own fun within our own batch! :)

till today,

i'm still missing the tough times that i had gone through with them.

it was through this bonding journey that helped us to survive the difficult times.

i miss the prep-talk by mr. bernard tan and/or coach and/or seniors.

i miss the gym workout at the fitness corner.

i miss the shouts, the laughters, the cries, the hugs, the kallang shed.

Acting releases the inner person or allows someone to be different?

I think it is an eye-opener to be in someone's shoes.

To act as another person, you need to be different.

I mean.. you can't actually be the same person as the character in the script?

But, to differentiate the true-me & pseudo-me,

i think it is, still, a grey area.

humans are just complex beings..

As the filming wrapped up,

i'm just thankful that everything turned out pretty smoothly for my sis and her ICA group.

Bdae celebrations (Part 2)

21st July 07 - Andre 1st birthday!

(actual bdae on 25 july 07)

being 1 is fun!

on Fri late night.. (excluding the first shot, the rest were taken by zavier!)

the party deco!

The night before & the morning of the day itself, we put up some party deco (balloons & streamers) and arranged the presents on the table. The banner at the background was specially made for Andre. Kudos to 5yi for all the preparation!

there was a theme for the party deco. Pretty cute actually.

Color theme was purple, green & yellow!

So, if you looked at the balloons and streamers, all of them were in these 3 colours.

Helium balloons arrived too!

There were 6 bouquets of balloons + 4 mylers (with 8 balloons on each bouquet)!

And in the middle of the party room was 28 balloons!

The balloons were in lilac (my favourite), blue & yellow!

The balloons were so pretty!

the food, the cake, the cupcakes & the parents behind all the effort!

Buffet lunch arrived and the food was a sumptuous spread. From pineapple rice to yam ring to cereal prawns.. simply delicious!

Birthday cake was the cutest! Not forgetting the miniature cupcakes too! Birthday cake had little cars on it since Andre loves cars!Andre will just point to cars whenever he sees 1. He's such a darling! Especially when he is all excited & flustered & showing us his 2 lil' teeth with a cheeky smile!

The cupcakes were really appealing & they tasted heavenly! Just pop one into the mouth and u will want to reach for another! :P

both of us were like balloon models.. lol!

Over in all, it was a very successful event! everything came together timely and beautifully. my 5yi even teared when we were singing the bdae song! She must have been so happy that Andre had so much fun! We had a great deal of fun too!

Bdae celebrations @ NSRCC (Part 1)

20 July 07 - Xiaomei's sweet 17

Had 2 birthday celebrations at NSRCC for the two days.

Fri was meant for xiaomei and Sat for the cutest baby ever - Andre, on Fri & Sat respectively!

Checked into the bungalow and then unloaded all the barangs.

Near evening, went to the swimming pool for a swim and fun time with zavier, my 6yi (zavier's mum) and my sister. Zavier was having a great time with the playground pool.

So did I. Ha. It was like long-lost childhood fun!

Zavier was all smiles at the pool!

Celebrated xiaomei's bdae with the most unique cake ever seen.

it's an agar-agar jelly cake! Each layer of the agar agar was meticulously made!

In addition, it tasted awesome! The font looked so funky too!

Just right for teenagers' birthday and out-of-the-norm kind of cake!

4yi, bro & xiong spent great deal of effort preparing food.

Everyone had a great deal of time munching and relaxing the Fri evening away. & we managed to skype with xiaoyi & sieske for some updates on the chalet for that day! Sieske must have been quite sad that she couldn't join us! But i'm sure all the storytelling & food preparation at vancouver will occupy her mind instead! :)

Met up with (some of) the canoeists for dinner.

At the same time to see our dear sufen who has been away for ages!

Had hawker food since sufen has been very pro-european & western in her diet these days.

Helped her to inject some asian flavor before she flies off to perth!

We had a great deal of time catching up!

Indulged in sufen's photos (europe is just so beautiful), laughed at kianheng's blind & silly mambo moves, teased at christine (as usual..), listened to jeremy's stressed-up relief teaching and waikian's ordeal with biking theft..

really appreciate everyone who showed up for this gathering!

those who flew my aeroplane at the last hour will get it from me!

work over the weekend was rewarding in a way that i've earned a $100.
i love part-time jobs that pay u on the spot.
in this manner, u don't have to wait and wait for the pay to be cashed into your account. haha.

Sales jobs can be pretty challenging when you have to stand out from the rest and then try to get as much sales as possible.

I can kinda conclude that being a female in the sales line is a bonus!
But then, if you can really sell your point, gender doesn't really matter.
Haha. So guys, don't be discouraged!
We just have different target audience! lol!

work to occupy time..

Took up a part-time work for this weekend only.
selling portable emergency handphone charger, operated with alkaline batteries.
It sounds so 'night market' kind of job. 'le long le long'
But it is a offer that i just can't possibly reject.
It is going to help me occupy my 1st Sat and Sun without dear.
Something to occupy my mind so that I won't think so much and cry like mad again.

But of all things, i had to miss his calls.
This is one thing that I feared most.
Why do i have to miss his calls? why why why?
But luckily, we managed to talk to each other at about 11pm just now.
Thanks baby for all the patience.

Dear got his HP line in Aussie, which is good!
So that the calling is not one-way now! yippee!
I can't wait for him to settle his timetable too.
Then we know each other's schedule and then get into the habitual calling over skype/msn/phone.
Hope his orientation on Monday will go through smoothly.
Sun night will be his first night alone in currie.
Hope he'll know more people (neighbours) & then the people around him will be nice ones.

It was my first time in a cable car!
Quite a thrill to take my first cable car ride with dear.
He scared the heart out of me when he moved to the seat opposite me
and the car tilted to the side!

Starter dish: Smoked Salmon Salad with Mascarpone Cheese
& Cream of Tomato Soup.
I love the tomato soup. Thick, sour yet sweet! Very appetizing!
The salmon & cheese pairing was awesome!

Dear's main course: Grilled Beef Tenderloin.
It was tasty & succulent. Absolutely fantastic!

My main course: Pan-fried Salmon fillet.
I love the Honey Miso sauce that is coupled with the fillet!
The taste was simply divine.

House wine: Beef with red wine & Salmon with white wine. Sweet!

Dessert: Chocolate Brownie - It was an aftermath pic!
The brownie was lacking of a scoop of vanilla ice-cream.
Nonetheless, it was nectareous.

Best part of the dining experience - The beautiful sunset.

The whole dining took 3 rounds of cable car rides,
from Mt Faber to Harbourfront Tower to Sentosa.

I love the concept of dining in a world of our own,
above the rest and away from the hustle & bustle of city life.

To share such a beautiful evening with the love of your life on such a special day,
what more can I ask for?

Dim Sum Dollies: History of Singapore
6 july 07 @ Esplanade Theatre

It was quite an haste decision to catch this show by Dim Sum Dollies.
But, I heard from the reviews that it is a must-see theatre of the year.
So, I got dear to watch it with me!

The play was very entertaining!
It made me laughed throughout the whole play!

They were fabulous with the fusion of history and the modern happenings in sg.

From not-so-demure-anymore convent girls to SPGs to the political scene to IR, they had a great mix of illustrations of how sg had transformed since its discovery by sang nila utama.

It was just so superb!

HK - Day 2 - Part 1

Started with the free half-day city tour.
Initially, I regretted joining this tour.
But, at the end of the day, I realised it helped me understand HK better.
Pretty much informative tour!
The half day tour brought us to yum cha, victoria peak, repulse bay (stanley beach), floating jumbo restaurant, jewellery factory & a herb store.

Yum Cha was great. Nice dim sum!
Victoria Peak - Took nice scenery pictures of the skyscrapers, saw the rich mens' houses..
Repulse Bay - Stanley Beach was very nice & clean, saw Jackie Chan's house at like far far away on top of the moutains..
Floating Jumbo Restaurant - very nice floating boat (too bad we didn't get to go in),
the dragon eyes' on the pillars were pretty fascinating & they glowed!

In the evening, we walked to Ave of Stars at Tsim Sha Tsui from our hotel..
It was really an avenue of stars where we met into some hk stars coincidentally!
Will update more on the next post.
after star glamour, we headed to HK's biggest shopping mall - Harbour City.
but, by the time we were there, most of the shops were closed already.
Except for that level of shopping meant for youth.
Nothing much there though..

Then, we had dinner at this Beijing Dumpling teahouse.
Apparently, a lot of stars had tried their food and it was featured in sg papers.
the dumplings were really heavenly, so was the fat meat veg. rice!
even the soy milk tasted like uber sweet!

After the dinner, we were so so full!
Decided to roam around that area and we went to look for Knutsford Terrace.
this place resembles of Holland Village, with all the caucausians' pubs and restaurants. walked past a few clubbing pubs.
omg.. the cover was so expensive! it was like S$50!

after the 'roaming', it was back to hotel to rest & then planned for Day 3! :)

Ah, i miss HK.. haha!

so proud of myself.

im just so proud of myself that
i actually went for the seminars at nus-imre.
i actually woke up at 830am and then head to nus for the seminars.
the two seminars were like 3hours apart.
and, i went for both! lol.
proud. im so proud of myself. :P

during that 3hr rotting time,
i had a great time hanging out at holland v. with pj.
we saw alot of zen-like furniture and diy accessories.
but they were expensive.
so we didn't get anything in the end.

as for the seminars..
the speakers were very good but then abit too advanced for us.
the info was very beneficial to know though.
reality alerts on how advanced technology can be and
our understanding of materials from school is so fundamental.

approaching year 4 is like really a smack in the face on how 'real' the world is!

christina aguilera - Back to Basics @ Indoor Stadium
30 June 07, 8pm

Attended the concert with my sister! :)

What more can I say?

She has strong lungs and her vocals 'rocked' the stadium.
I enjoyed her concert, or rather, the performance very much!
A couple of songs from her previous albums were showcased too!
Songs like.. "Moulin Rouge", "What a Girl Wants" & "Fighter"!
Her finale song was "Fighter" and it was awesome!
Concert ended on a high note for everyone in the indoor stadium.
I bet nobody will disagree with me!

After the concert at Indoor Stadium,
we waited outside the National Stadium to catch the fireworks and then,
we bid our farewell to the stadium.

The only fond memories that I had for National Stadium were ..
the only SYF display that I took part in when I was in primary school for youth day celebration and
the first NDP preview that I had ever attended (with dear) in 2002!

It was a place with greatest memories for many.
but it has to give way to better deals for the future!

discover HK - Day 1 - part 2

Day 1 was more of exploring the streets
near our hotel - mayfair garden.
hotel was a budget stay but they've got clean & nice rooms!
the room space is enough for two people!:)

Shopping
Went to Ladies Market, Fa Yuen Street, Market Street.
All these theme streets are like our Bugis Street.
Messy, filled with small shops & great bargains!
these shops opened till late night &
they had an array of goods like sports apparel, clothes, accessories, bags to buy from..

Dinner
Food that we ordered was great although the portion was huge!
it was a hearty dinner. lol.
Then we had mango dessert.
omg. it was duper nice.
the mango was juicy & sweet.
that ice-blended drink was abit sour, but it's still delicious.
yummy. we were so contented with the mangoes!

MTR
we took the MTR back to Jordan(where our hotel is located).
the cabin looked pretty much like that of sg.
not many seats though.
in fact, there were more standing space.
i like the MTR map they had in the cabin.
Cause of the LEDs that they had on the stops.
they will blink if the train is reaching that stop.
Lighted up if the stop has been past.
hah, i thought it was pretty cool!

Had a little discovery on the 1st day -
it was so difficult to locate a toilet in one of the shopping malls at fa yuen street! all the toilets were locked and available to shop owners only. so irritating! sg has toilets for all at most of the levels! hah. we r so pampered!

discover Hongkong - Part 1 - Day 1 (off to HK..weeeeee!)

reached airport at about 4am for check-in.
then, we had Burger King breakfast. yummy!
check-in to waiting area was troublesome with all the new liquid, aerosols security measures. we cannot take security for granted!

on the flight to HK, i was so excited.
Maybe it was due to the fact that i haven't gotten into a plane
since close to 5 years ago. that's a long time!
Flight with Jetstar Asia was alright.
Just got to bear with it for the price that you pay.
Leg space was adequate for me. hehe. but not so for dear.

Food & drinks in-flight were reasonably priced.
tried their hot meal - thai sauce chicken+veg rice.
it smelt great and it tasted edible. (at least it is not cold food!)
took some pics of the nice clouds.
i was definitely feeling 'above the clouds'!

Arrival at HK International Aiport was a little bit above average.
our luggages took a bit of time to arrive at the belt!
but then, the environment was very nice!
Bright, clean & systematic.
It looked pretty much like our Changi Airport T2.
not too bad..

Nonetheless, it was a Happy Arrival! :D

it was a fantastic trip!
I had fun walking down the streets, shopping, bargaining, eating,
looking at the buildings and wax people.

despite the rainy weather over that 4 day period,
that didn't stop me and dear from venturing around hk!

this trip made me appreciate singapore's system even more!
i am so fortunate to be a singaporean!

went to miss clarity cafe with pj, ada & yl.

situated opposite the National Library.

cosy, but warm eating place.

food was a bit disappointing.

friends tried pasta, chicken stew, mango sorbet & bread pudding.

i had cream of vegetable + garlic bread.

the soup was not even warm.

i'm fine with it but then,

aren't all soup supposed to be served hot?

servings were sufficient, presentation was nice too.

bread pudding was 3.5/5.

tasty but can be improved.

this place was quite packed during dinner time.

thankfully we made reservation.

if not, we'll be like the poor things waiting at the queue.

is this a place worth queuing for?

i think there are better options elsewhere nearby.

i would say that this is a place to chill for food & drinks at a bargaining price.

no gst & service charge.

so that is like 15% (or 17% soon) cheaper compared to restaurants.

conclusion: try if u are on budget!

Farewell lunch @ Sakura Safra Tampines

Colleagues at IA company were sweet to treat me to lunch.

Buffet lunch was 3.5/5, abit above average.
widespread of food. international food.
from thai to japanese (of course) to italian (pizza) to dim sum to local taste (laksa).
a challenge to the stomach and taste-buds!
Not my top choice but I think I appreciate the company more than the food!

this was my favourite in the buffet spread!
the icy strawberry with vanilla ice cream at the core.

this lunch concludes to a farewell to attachment stint!

Mixed feelings.
One moment where I can't wait to get out of office.
Another moment where I do not want to leave the company.

Work is, confusingly, fun and dull at the same time.
when there's too much to take, it's dull.
when there's too little to undertake, it's also dull.
but, when it's lunch & teambuilding time, it's hella of a fun!

Gonna miss the jokes and laughters of these guys so much.
And, of course, the experience of working life.

i haven't touch bowling for ages,

thus i had to help washed the drains for a couple of times.

(money went down the drain too...)

but hey, i've got one strike.

pathetic but then, i'm satisfied!

the other IA peeps were hilarious when they tried out some moves.

curl the ball, the foot-to-one-side move, planning the best move..

this was purely a self-enjoyment session.

had a great time laughing away!

dinner was settled at the foodcourt.

don't attempt the korean stall's kimchi soup.

it is like level 4 of kimchi's spiciness.

unless you can take it, if not,

don't be too adventurous.

friend recommended the roast meat stall though.

we were talking about religion.

i'm still not willing to take up faith at this moment.

can't bring myself to believe in any yet.

tiring, yes, to question each and every time.

but i'm not ready yet.

so, i guess, the right time will arrive.

mayday concert @ max pavilion

02 June 07, 8pm

attended mayday concert at expo.
got the tickets at a real good deal from yl!
though far from the stage,
the blasting music was enough to satisfy!

the crowd was literally 'separated from the earth's surface'.
as wanted by mayday themselves.
we were in a world of our own.
high on spirit.
the mayday spirit!

mayday is an unique group.
meaningful lyrics, perfect jamming with their instruments.
though singing is not the best,
i think the jamming itself overules all the bad points!

probably like what pj said,
can die without any regrets already!

bintan lagoon resort

29may07 - 30may07

went bintan lagoon resort for training session with company.
great opportunity to interact with people across
the apac region.

learnt a couple of valuable lessons in this workshop.
things that cannot be learnt from school or theory.

i treasured this trip alot as it's a once in a lifetime experience.

regarding the trip itself,
the least favourite will be the ferry trip to bintan

and back to s'pore.

food-wise..
i'm very satisfied with the spread of buffet for breakfast.
lunch was alright, and so was dinner.
didn't have much carbo but had a wide variety of the spread of food.

fun-time..
there were teambuilding games for two days.
laser quest, archery & beach games.
i had fun cheering and playing the games with them.
it felt so 'orientation-camp'!

since it was a workshop,
i didn't have much personal time. the only time for myself was
swimming at the pool for an hour!

Nonetheless,
it was a great deal of fun time and valuable memories!

I feel so blessed!

my 1st diy

On Sat, I went for a p/t job briefing with yl and ada.

after all the recee,

we went for lunch and then walked around town.

walked into the diy shop where u can do ur own jewellery

at far east plaza.

yl got her earrings stand and then

we went to browse thru' the diy stuff.

thanks to yl..

i was so engrossed in all the stuff they had in the store.

in the end,

i bought the french hook, rings and

the pair of half shutter butterfly.

haha!

came home and then,

yesh - without the essential tools,

linked the rings & french hook &

the main character together.

(the one on the left was re-furnished from another pair of earrings)

looking at my masterpiece,

i think the effort is worth an applause from myself.

the loof

went to the loof yesterday night with dear.
It's a very nice place to chill out.
the concept is very laid back yet classy.
interesting!

had cosmopolitian.
very fruity but the alcohol isn't very strong.
it is just fruity throughout.
So, i thought, this is so diluted!
then i got home and showered..
dropped to my bed and i could feel the alcohol like full blast!
And, i just went to sleep in a second.. hah!

initially i thought that place is called loft. haha!
but loof is definitely a great place for drinks and chill with friends!

that is, if, the weather is kind enough!

boring.. tiring..

it is at this point of time when I miss school so much.
I miss those times when you can just slack your time away in the canteen or benches.
I miss those times when you can just watch television and stay up late on Sunday nights.

Arh, I seriously can't wait for attachment to be over.
it is a love-hate relationship with attachment.

i love the challenges when attachment first started.
everything is so fresh and exciting.
I don't deny that I am learning things and it is a great experience.

but now,
i hate the routine that office work gives.
i hate the bright lights on the ceiling.
i hate it when my phone rings.
i hate it when 'you have new messages in your inbox' pops out.

Had a great bonding time with my 5 yi's family & my sister.

Dinner at Vivo's Sushi Tei on Sat evening.

salmon, green tea, cha soba, hotate sushi, phoenix roll..

what more can i ask for?

Jap food makes me feel so satisfied.. everytime!

Sun lunch at Marina Square's TCC and then snack at Mac before heading home.

Lil' Andre has grown so much!

He is so cheeky now!

Playing with him is always so full of joy.

When little children smile at you, it is the most blessed thing!

hk! here i come!

Finally!
Finally..that i've booked a holiday with dear to HK!
Flying off to HK for a 4d3n shop-eat-play trip!
Dim sum, ocean park, polluted air, cheap bargains,
more dim sum, good food,
tong sui, more shopping, tvb drama comes alive..

I can't wait for May to end!
Albeit that the month of May is just about to begin..

Why the impatience?

Firstly, IA will be ending!
Then, I'll be able to board the plane & fly off to HK with dear!

However, a part of me still wish that time will not fly by so quickly.
If May ends soon, then June will arrive and go by as quickly.
And, July will arrive!
I don't want July to come into the calender in such a blink of an eye.

How will I be able to survive through?
I don't know what to expect.
But I think that I will be lost for like 2 months or so..

Why can't people realise this fact?
It has happened and it will worsened.
Of course, unless, we do something about it.

The initiative to limit the usage of plastic bags is worth applauding.
But why do people reject this idea?
Is it that demanding?

It is not as if the party is forcing you to stop using plastic bags totally.
Hello people.. it is only for like once a month?!
How much impact will that be?

All it takes for you is to do some planning with your groceries shopping.
Despite it being once-a-month campaign,
it really helps alot in limiting the usage and/or production of plastic bags.

ikea is charging for their plastic bags.
i approve of them doing this.
why so?
i think this is one of the few ways to deter people from mis-using plastic bags.
you should only get what you need.

Everyone is responsible for the care of the environment.
By right, an individual shouldn't even be prompted to protect Mother Earth.

how shameful that we, as a first world citizen, are so selfish..

Probably that stress level has decreased.
Just like the lift in your office that is descending to the ground floor where you head to your car or mrt or bus.

4. You start to pack your table.
A presentable table or just a preparation?

5. You load the explorer browser.
Time to do some 'waste-time' activity. yap, like blogging.

6. You close outlook.
Hey dude.. i'm out of office already. Don't you get the hint?!

badminton + butterflies + cheering + laughters..

joined the IA peeps from the other building for the inter dept badminton game.
they needed another female player in the team, and so, i agreed to join them.
i have not been playing badminton since the hall game when i was in year 2?
and, that explained the butterflies in my stomach on sat!

but, in the end, the team did not manage to win at least 2 sets.
and so, the female doubles game need not be played.
all i did was warm-up, cheered for the guys & laughed at michael for straining his muscles.

it was fun time to smack a bit at whichever free court was available.

and for now..
